How do I measure the length of my foot?
1. Place a ruler or tape measure on the floor – ideally against a wall.
2. Stand on the tape measure; it’s important that your heel is against the wall.
3. You can now read your foot length off the tape measure.
Alternatively: Place a sheet of paper against the wall, stand with your foot on it and draw a line around the front of your toes – then measure the distance between your longest toe and the edge of the paper.
How do I work out the correct shoe size from the length of my foot?
1. Measure your foot length as described above.
2. For every Doghammer shoe in our online shop, you’ll find a size chart – compare your measurement with the recommended foot length. Alternatively, click on ‘Which size is right for me?’ for the relevant model and follow the instructions.
Please note: Your foot circumference also plays a role – if you have narrow feet, go for the smaller size; if you have wide feet, go for the larger size.
Useful information regarding foot length and shoe size
- Add approx. 1.0–1.3 cm to the measured foot length – this gives your toes plenty of room.
- Our barefoot shoes should fit a little more loosely than traditional shoes – that’s part of the barefoot feel.
- In between sizes? Then it’s best to go for the larger size – especially if you’re wearing thick socks or doing a lot of walking.
- Do you use insoles? If so, be sure to bear this in mind when measuring and trying on shoes – they affect the fit.
