Preamble

Doghammer GmbH (hereinafter: Doghammer) is delighted that you are visiting our website. Data protection and data security whilst using our website are very important to us. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to inform you about which of your personal data we collect when you visit our website and for what purposes this data is used. As changes in the law or changes to our internal company processes may require this privacy policy to be amended, we ask you to read through this privacy policy regularly. This privacy policy applies to the Doghammer GmbH website, which is accessible via the domain www.doghammer.de and its various subdomains (hereinafter referred to as ‘our website’).

1. Scope

This Cookie Policy applies to the Doghammer website, which is accessible via the domain www.doghammer.de and its various subdomains (hereinafter referred to as ‘our website’).

2. General information about cookies

Cookies are small files that contain specific information and are stored on your device, such as your language settings or login details. Cookies are set either by our partners – in which case they are known as first-party cookies – or by certain third parties whose services we use; in this case, they are referred to as third-party cookies.

We use cookies to provide and optimise our website, to support advertising and marketing activities, and to recognise returning visitors and gather information about their usage behaviour and presumed interests.

3. Categories of cookies and legal bases

We use the following categories of cookies on our website:

3.1 Essential cookies

These cookies are required for technical reasons to enable you to visit our website and use the functions we offer. They are essential for us to display our website at all. They are also necessary to enable you to navigate our website in a user-friendly manner and to use its functions, e.g. to set your privacy preferences, log in or fill in forms. This category of cookies does not require consent under applicable law.

The legal basis for the use of technically necessary cookies for the associated storage of information on your device and its subsequent retrieval is Section 25(2)(2) of the German Telemedia Act (TTDSG). The subsequent processing of your personal data is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you block strictly necessary cookies, we may not be able to display our website in its entirety.

3.2 Performance cookies

These cookies enable us to analyse website usage and improve the performance and functionality of our website. Information is collected, for example, on how visitors use our website, which pages are accessed most frequently, or whether error messages are displayed on certain pages. Performance cookies also serve to enable requested functions, such as the playback of videos.

We require your consent for cookies that are not technically necessary, or so-called third-party cookies. If you have given us your consent to the use of a non-technically necessary cookie on the basis of a notice displayed on our website (‘cookie banner’), , the lawfulness of the associated storage of information on your device and its subsequent retrieval is governed by Section 25(1), first sentence, of the TTDSG. You may withdraw this consent at any time with future effect by disabling cookies in your browser settings or via our Cookie Consent Manager under ‘COOKIE SETTINGS’ (click on the fingerprint icon at the bottom right of the page). The subsequent processing of your personal data is based on your expressly given consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You may also withdraw this consent at any time with future effect by disabling cookies in your browser settings or via our Cookie Consent Manager.

Further details on browser settings and managing your consent can be found in section 4 below.

4. Configuring browser settings

You can manage your cookie settings using the options listed below or by configuring your browser settings.

Most browsers are set by default to accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser to accept only certain cookies or none at all. Please note, however, that you may no longer be able to use all the features of our website if cookies are disabled on our website via your browser settings. You can also use your browser settings to delete cookies already stored in your browser or to view their storage duration. Furthermore, it is possible to set your browser to notify you before cookies are stored. As different browsers may operate in different ways, we ask that you consult your browser’s help menu for information on configuration options.

If you would like a comprehensive overview of all third-party access to your web browser, we recommend installing plug-ins specifically designed for this purpose.

Further information on the specific cookies used can be found in our Cookie Consent Manager. You can also manage your consent there, for example, by withdrawing consent you have previously given.

5. Cookies used

5.1.1 Essential cookies – reCAPTCHA

reCAPTCHA is used to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated programme. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyses the website visitor’s behaviour based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (e.g. IP address, the length of time the website visitor spends on the website, or the mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.

When using reCAPTCHA, personal data may be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA, in particular to the USA. In order to ensure an adequate level of protection for your personal data in the event of its transfer to such so-called third countries, we have entered into so-called EU-US Standard Contractual Clauses with Google. The US is regarded by the European Court of Justice as a country with a level of data protection that is insufficient by EU standards. In the absence of an adequacy decision and without suitable safeguards, there is a particular risk that your data may be processed by US authorities for monitoring and surveillance purposes, possibly without any means of legal redress. Furthermore, where possible, we are in regular contact with the service provider to ensure the protection of your personal data by implementing any additional measures that may be necessary.

5.2.1. Performance cookies – Google Analytics

This is a web analytics service. It enables the user to measure the return on investment (ROI) of advertising and to track user behaviour in relation to Flash, video, websites and applications.

To ensure the best possible protection of your personal data, the ‘anonymizeIp’ code has been added to Google Analytics on this website. This code causes the last 8 bits of IP addresses to be deleted, meaning your IP address is recorded anonymously (known as IP masking). As a matter of principle, your IP address is truncated by Google – and thus anonymised – before it is transmitted, whilst within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
