Just pop them in your rucksack and off you go – with no extra weight, but maximum comfort. Thanks to their flexibility and breathability, they’re also the perfect complement to your closed-toe barefoot hiking boots. When it gets hot, simply switch to something airy – without compromising on that natural walking sensation.

What materials make our sandals so special?

For us, sustainability starts right from the very first step: for the footbed, we use recycled cork – sourced, amongst other places, from our own Cork Collect Challenge. Cork is not only a rapidly renewable raw material, but also naturally offers everything a barefoot shoe needs: it’s non-slip, antibacterial and water-resistant – in short, perfect for bare feet.

Depending on the model, the straps are made from LWG-certified leather or upcycled climbing ropes – a real eye-catcher with character. For the sole, depending on the intended use, we use either a robust, recycled Vibram sole with a deep tread or a lightly treaded sole from Portugal. In between? A 4 mm-thick EVA cushioning layer – protecting against sharp stones without compromising the barefoot feel.

Thanks to the stability in the heel and midfoot areas and the clever combination of layers, the sandals can even be resoled if necessary – something we can do in our small shoe workshop in Rosenheim. This means your men’s barefoot sandals will not only last you a long time – they’ll also help conserve our resources.

Why do our men’s barefoot sandals have special cushioning in the heel?

Our men’s barefoot sandals feature a specifically integrated 3 mm EVA cushioning layer in the heel area. Why? So that the strap can be securely embedded between the cushioning and the outsole – without any noticeable transitions whilst walking. Despite the additional layer, the natural barefoot feel is fully preserved. The entire construction – including the main cushioning, recycled cork upper and robust outsole – is particularly low-profile at just 9 to 11 mm. Thanks to the multi-layered sole technology, you gain stability, comfort and flexibility – ideal for active men who value a lightweight, durable and mindful running experience.
